“You put it on and never take it off again.” This is how our research and development department describes the Castore jacket. A new and simple approach to understanding essential clothing for aerobic outdoor activities.
Usable both as a mid-layer in cold weather and as an outer layer, the Castore jacket was designed for ski mountaineering, but we immediately understood that its uses could be much broader. It's the jacket you always take with you: the one you wear in the city to protect yourself from the cold, the one you wear for easy excursions. And the one that transforms into a high-performance, protective garment for an adrenaline rush. You'll simply no longer need to stop to remove or add a layer.
Made from Pertex® Quantum Air fabric with a DWR treatment to repel rain and light snow, the Castore jacket features warm Primaloft® Gold Active insulation: 60 grams on the body and 40 grams on the sleeves and hood. At just 390 grams, it's lightweight, warm, breathable, and highly resistant to wind and other weather elements. It's ultra-compact, taking up very little space in your backpack. In short, whether you're wearing it or slipping it into your pack just in case, you won't be able to leave the new Castore jacket at home.
