Integrated innovation: the Aerokit system
The diagonal tube, always one of the most complex parts to design, was developed with a specific objective: to obtain the lowest possible aerodynamic resistance and to minimize the exposure of the tanks to the air.

It is with this in mind that the Aerokit system was designed by our Innovation Lab in collaboration with Elite Cycling, a world leader in the design and production of hydration systems for cycling. This collaboration has resulted in the creation of a kit that is both functional and high-performing: a total capacity of 1100 ml, optimally distributed with minimal aerodynamic impact.

From a technical standpoint, the Aerokit functions like a true wing, maintaining more stable airflow and reducing turbulence around the frame. Compared to traditional systems, aerodynamic drag is reduced by more than two-thirds.

The Aerokit is also compatible with traditional round bottles: from 550 ml on the diagonal tube to 750 ml on the seat tube.

To meet the needs of cyclists, the Filante SLR ID2 frame is also designed for the installation of traditional bottle cages.

Rigorous tests conducted in the Silverstone wind tunnel have confirmed the data of an ambitious project beyond all expectations.
 
The verdict was extraordinary: a 13.6% reduction in drag, exceeding the 12% estimated by CFD simulations. The complete system formed by the bicycle and the cyclist, always central to Wilier, recorded a 4.5% improvement in aerodynamic resistance.
 
Comparison with the Filante SLR ID1 reveals tangible and significant advantages: maintaining the same speed of 40 km/h, the power saving is 14.15 watts. The distance data is even more impressive: delivering the same 290 W over a 70 km course, the gain amounts to 1 minute 45 seconds – a margin that makes all the difference in competitive cycling.
 
It was through direct comparison with the five top-of-the-range models of the World Tour competition that the decisive test arrived: an average aerodynamic drag coefficient 2.42% higher.
 
Given the speeds of modern cycling, this difference translates into a gain of seconds and concrete advantages during the race.

F-Bar ID2: Aerodynamic cockpit for superior control and comfort

The new F-Bar ID2 is an aerodynamic cockpit developed according to the requirements of the modern cyclist, thanks to the joint work of engineers and athletes from the Groupama – FDJ cycling team.

Every detail has been designed to ensure maximum efficiency and optimal control in all riding conditions. The OEF (Optimized Ergonomic Flare) design introduces a 3 cm orthogonal flare between the lower and upper grips (available in 35/38 cm, 37/40 cm and 39/42 cm) which, unlike other handlebars with different widths, maintains identical ergonomics for the controls and thus guarantees a natural, comfortable and compact riding position to further improve aerodynamic performance.

For the first time on a Wilier product, the handlebar mounting hardware is completely concealed, in order to improve aesthetics, protection against dirt and sweat and aerodynamic performance, in full compliance with the latest UCI regulations.
