Lightweight, responsive, and extremely aerodynamic, the Filante SLR ID2, created by Wilier with you at the heart of every design choice, redefines performance standards. Aerodynamics is not an end in itself: it serves the cyclist to ensure maximum efficiency, comfort, and control in all conditions.
Speed, innovation and Italian tradition: these are the foundations of a model designed to optimize your experience in the saddle of the fastest bike on the World Tour scene.
It is with this in mind that the Aerokit system was designed by our Innovation Lab in collaboration with Elite Cycling, a world leader in the design and production of hydration systems for cycling. This collaboration has resulted in the creation of a kit that is both functional and high-performing: a total capacity of 1100 ml, optimally distributed with minimal aerodynamic impact.
From a technical standpoint, the Aerokit functions like a true wing, maintaining more stable airflow and reducing turbulence around the frame. Compared to traditional systems, aerodynamic drag is reduced by more than two-thirds.
The Aerokit is also compatible with traditional round bottles: from 550 ml on the diagonal tube to 750 ml on the seat tube.
To meet the needs of cyclists, the Filante SLR ID2 frame is also designed for the installation of traditional bottle cages.
A new aerodynamic standard on the market
The verdict was extraordinary: a 13.6% reduction in drag, exceeding the 12% estimated by CFD simulations. The complete system formed by the bicycle and the cyclist, always central to Wilier, recorded a 4.5% improvement in aerodynamic resistance.
Comparison with the Filante SLR ID1 reveals tangible and significant advantages: maintaining the same speed of 40 km/h, the power saving is 14.15 watts. The distance data is even more impressive: delivering the same 290 W over a 70 km course, the gain amounts to 1 minute 45 seconds – a margin that makes all the difference in competitive cycling.
It was through direct comparison with the five top-of-the-range models of the World Tour competition that the decisive test arrived: an average aerodynamic drag coefficient 2.42% higher.
Given the speeds of modern cycling, this difference translates into a gain of seconds and concrete advantages during the race.
