The image of speed
When time is the only opponent, every detail counts. You need your head, your legs, and a bike that can turn all your energy into speed.
Your body stretched forward, your gaze fixed on the horizon at the aerodynamic extensions of the handlebars. Your legs carry you forward. Man and bicycle: the symbiosis of dynamism. As speed increases, the aerodynamic flow gradually becomes heavier. The SLR Turbine captures the cyclist's kinetic energy and transforms it into mechanical energy. The mid- and rear-frame sections have sleeker silhouettes than the previous generation of the product. The result? The frame is 300g lighter. And less weight means better acceleration with every attack. The Turbine SLR is the flagship of our Innovation Lab. CFD simulations, wind tunnel testing, velodrome testing, road testing, and the prototype's debut in the individual time trial in Budapest at the 2022 Giro d'Italia alongside Team Astana. World Design TourThe Turbine SLR is the result of ongoing collaboration between our innovation lab and the Astana team's performance managers. The project was designed to meet the needs of professional cyclists, who are increasingly challenged by time trials on routes filled with turns, changes of direction, and climbs. In these conditions, weight can really make a difference.
Complies with UCI standards Since January 1, 2023, the supreme cycling body has introduced a register that defines riding parameters based on the height of each cyclist (categories 1, 2, and 3). Our platform is able to meet the needs of all athletes, including those over 190 cm tall.
Maximum adaptability
The carbon fiber base bar and aerodynamic extensions have been completely redesigned. Cable routing is fully integrated, and each component uses a monocoque construction without joints or bonding. The 380 mm center-to-center base bar accommodates two extensions that can be positioned in two different widths: 125 and 140 mm. Each extension is in turn adjustable from 0 to 75 mm in height thanks to the 40, 20, 10 and 5 mm shim pack.
We have confirmed the three frame sizes of the previous generation of the product: S, M, L. Thanks also to the feedback received from our athletes, the new Turbine SLR mimics the geometries of the Turbine. When a machine is close to perfection, why change it? |
