When Castelli invented the short-sleeved Gabba jacket for wet-weather cycling competitions, they also responded to the need for a jacket suitable for fast-paced autumn and spring rides when your body needs warmth but traditional jackets are simply too hot. The Gabba was created for wet-weather racing, and the Gabba R now meets that need better than ever. But if you're like most cyclists who primarily wear the Gabba in dry conditions, the DO.DI.CI. is the jacket for you. Having been created for wet-weather racing, the Gabba offered excellent waterproofing at the expense of breathability. If you don't ride in the rain, then we can offer superior breathability and a jacket better suited to dry conditions. The secret lies in Castelli's Ristretto technology. With our technical air permeability solution, we create fabrics that are primarily windproof but allow a tiny amount of air to pass through the fabric, wicking away sweat and keeping you drier. How much air? We named this jacket DO.DI.CI., which means "twelve" in Italian, because it offers 12 times the air permeability of the old Gabba. It's like the difference between hanging your bib shorts to dry in a cold, damp room versus exposing them to a light breeze. The fabric is extremely stretchy, ensuring a great fit. And if it rains? The fabric won't protect you if you're exposed to more than a little road spray, but you can slip an Ultra Rain Cape or Squall Shell Jacket into the center pocket if it's ever likely to rain.
