Aerodynamic cycling has a new benchmark

The natural evolution of our premium aero product used by professionals.

Filante SLR is an extremely lightweight aerodynamic bike that significantly improves the torsional stiffness-to-weight ratio, stiffness-to-weight ratio. We used the same materials and technologies as those used in the construction of the Wilier 0 SLR.

The result is a very high-end aerodynamic frame that complements our pure climbing bike now used by the Astana Qazaqstan team.

AERODYNAMIC

Filante SLR has been designed to deliver maximum aerodynamic performance in real-world environmental conditions. The study was based on data collected in a wind tunnel (where the wind is very clean for consistent empirical results) while also taking into account the real world. In doing so, we not only evaluate typical wind tunnel data (yaw angles from -20° to +20°), but we also take into account environmental turbulence that interferes with the bike for the most diverse reasons.
This is why we redesigned the profiles, starting from the NACA/KAMM standard but no longer with sharply cut edges at the rear. Softened corners then, allowing for better performance even when airflow is disturbed.
The inside of the front fork has been widened by 7 mm and is therefore 13.6% wider than the Cento10PRO fork. In doing so, we moved the fork stanchions further away from the wheel, reducing turbulence and improving aerodynamics.

ULTRA-LIGHT AND RESPONSIVE

The new aerodynamically optimized profiles allowed us to save additional weight in the frame construction. The shape without sharp edges requires less material and less resin in the corners. This makes the interior more homogeneous and allows the weight of the frame to stop the scale needle at 870 grams.
The bike assembled with high-end specifications weighs 6.8 KG.
The carbon used to build the Filante monocoque is the same as that of the Wilier 0 SLR. Thanks to the different types of carbon used as well as the Liquid Cristal Polymer, the special positioning of the fibers and the construction technology, we were able to achieve an absolute level of lightness and rigidity.
The lower overall weight linked to the very high level of torsional rigidity increased the STW by 12.5 percent. This improvement is clearly felt in driving precision and the feeling of safety at high speeds.
